Bloomsburg Cross Country Opens Season at Bucknell

LEWISBURG -- The Bloomsburg University men's and women's cross country teams opened up the 2006 season with a strong showing at the Bucknell Bison Open on Friday.
On the women's side, Bloomsburg placed two runners in the top ten. 2005 NCAA-qualifier Amber Hackenberg (Middleberg/Middleberg) lead the Huskies with a seventh place (18:11) finish while Angela Borealo (Easton/Easton) took ninth place (18:18) in her first ever collegiate race.
The Huskies also had strong finishes from junior Sarah Bounds (Shippensburg/Shippensburg), senior Karen Hause (Bloomsburg/Central Columbia) and freshman Andrea Kellock (Lansdale/North Penn). Bounds finished 11th in 18:34, Hause took 14th in 18:41 and Kellock placed 16th in 18:44.
For the men, 2005 All-American Justin Shepherd (Cranberry Twp. /Seneca Valley) lead Bloomsburg with a 12th place finish (15:16). Shepherd was followed by Jim Stockley (Elverson/Twin Valley) who took 16th place in 15:22 and Tim Marcoe (Lansdale/Lansdale Catholic) who placed 19th in 15:29.
The Huskies are idle until September 16 when they host the Husky Invitational at 10:30 a.m. in Bloomsburg.
